Olio Nuovo with can

This olive oil comes from the hills of the Chianti Ruffina area in Italy. Nuovo means “new.” This is very newly pressed – when the olive oil is most fragrant. It strongly embodies the air, the heat of summer days, the grass, and flinty mineral of the rocky ground.

This is really the best of the best. It is hand-made with no mechanical gathering machines used. Then we rush it to the United States so you get the sensation of this amazing Olio Nuovo almost immediately after it is pressed. This product is a Bosca.com online exclusive.

olive oil in italy with chris bosca

Why is a leather company doing olive oil?

The long answer: Every year we find ourselves in Italy working on samples and leather inspection in the late fall when the olive oil is pressed.   The food and the experience of the meal is a central part of what inspires us when we are in Italy. We wanted to make a little of this inspiration available to our friends.

The short answer: We do what we love.

Why is Olio Nuovo so unique?

Nuovo means “new.” This is very newly pressed – when the oil is most fragrant and most strongly embodies the air, the heat of summer days, the slanting sun’s rays as summer slips into fall, the grass, and flinty mineral of the rocky ground. All of these flavors will soften and combine with age. Olio Nuovo is a strong taste. It could overwhelm some dishes, but it is a sensory luxury in itself.

This is really the best of the best. It is very hand-made. There are no mechanical gathering machines used, and the land available is small.  This olive oil is from the hills of the Chianti Ruffina area. This year, due to weather conditions, production is down 70% so this olive oil is even more scarce than normal, but the quality is even better than usual.

Finally, we rush it to the United States on an airplane so you get the sensation of this Olio Nuovo almost immediately after it is pressed.

When will I receive my oil?

If you order before November 25 you should receive your olive oil 5-15 days later. The delay is due to the fact that this is when the oil is being pressed in Italy. Bosca olive oil is the first to be pressed, and then we rush to the United States by air. If you are ordering after November 25 your olive oil should be shipped out within 1-2 days.
