We are pleased to add to the team our summer intern, Ben Clos. Ben will be going into his senior year at Ohio University this fall. He is studying strategic communications in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and also earning a certificate in entrepreneurship.
At school, Ben has been involved in Ohio University’s chapter of PRSSA, and student-run PR firm ImPRessions. Through these organizations he has been able to grow himself on a professional level in the PR world and learn things in a hands-on environment outside of the classroom. Last winter, Ben was chosen for the amazing opportunity to study abroad and intern in Accra, Ghana from December to January. While there, he was able to learn about African media and democratization to compare the similarities and differences between African culture and the United States.
“It was one of the craziest thing I feel I have ever done. It is not every day that you just pack up and go to Africa for a month. I remember having to pack and leave in such a rush. It was the last day of finals week for Fall semester and I had to pack still. I rummaged everything together and took off to start my two-day journey to Ghana. From Cleveland, to D.C., to Ethiopia, to Ghana. When we were there we had several ceremonies that we were able to attend, some were planned just for our group. Other times we were at our host university learning about journalism and discussing our cultures. We were also able to play soccer with boys at an orphanage one night. They were so good at soccer and I was exhausted. After the trip was said and done, it was amazing to realize how small this world actually is. At the end of the day, we are one people on this planet and we should treat each other as equals.”
Ben is very excited to work for Bosca this summer and is excited to see what is in store at the company. “I feel like this company has such strong values and a great story to share with its customers and the world. The story of this on-going Italian immigrant success story is one that I am excited to tell.”
Welcome to the team, Ben!
